Senior Strategic Buyer - Electronics & Semiconductor Sourcing

Description

We are seeking a senior, self-motivated Strategic Buyer with deep expertise in electronics and semiconductor sourcing. This role requires concrete experience with a wide range of electronic components, including CPUs, MCUs, memories, and other integrated circuits. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong network of contacts with manufacturers and distributors, enabling efficient sourcing and alternatives discovery. The position focuses on chip-down sourcing, alternative component sourcing, and open or spot market procurement. This role is for a specialist who thoroughly understands the electronics component market and can leverage their industry connections to find innovative sourcing solutions, rather than a general strategic buyer.

• Identify and procure electronic components effectively, focusing on CPUs, MCUs, memories, and ICs
• Develop and maintain relationships with manufacturers and distributors to ensure reliable supply
• Conduct chip-down and alternative component sourcing to mitigate risks
• Source components through open and spot market channels as needed
• Collaborate with engineering and design teams to find sourcing solutions
• Monitor market conditions to anticipate price and availability fluctuations
• Negotiate contracts and pricing agreements with suppliers

Basic qualifications:

• Extensive experience sourcing electronic components such as CPU/MCU, memories, and IC components
• Proven track record in chip-down and alternative component sourcing
• Strong knowledge of open and spot market procurement
• Established network of contacts with electronics manufacturers and distributors

• Strong negotiation and communication skills
• Ability to analyze market trends and pricing
• Project management capabilities
• Familiarity with supply chain and inventory management systems
